Well hopefully everyone had a good Monday! Mine was pleasant and work was pretty fast paced today which was nice considering we’ve been slower than the turtle racing a hare for the last two months.

Then back and bi’s training sesh was good,(probably due to the food from yesterday fueling me 😂😂) Then came home and enjoyed a nice 6oz medium rare top steak over 62g white rice, 75g cut and steamed carrots and 86g of brussel sprouts ☯️ Total Calories: 535

You arent always going to be motivated to do things! That is where discipline,  determination and consistency kick in for the assist.

Take this morning.  I slept terribly last night (racing mind plus a cold doesn't equal good sleep) and all I wanted to do was sit on the couch and scroll social media. Instead,  I drank my wonder woman juice and once it kicked in chose a quick 20 minute workout to do from my living room while my little gym buddy here slept. 
This kind of discipline and consistency doesnt happen over night.

Get a few accountability buddies (like our badass Virtual Gym!)

Set some non-negotiables (such as as soon as I drink my wonder woman juice I will press play...dont wanna waste it!)
.
Get some skin in the game! Buy a workout program, make a bet with your spouse etc..

This was a cookies and cream chocolate bunny which was the perfect addition to the chocolate skillet cookie I made.

I know a lot of you probably ate bad yesterday and I just wanted to let you know that I did too. It’s been awhile since I didn’t track everything I ate and tbh it scares me a little bit. I can live without it, but it makes my ocd go crazy and I like the feeling of knowing that my macros are aligned with my goals. I guess it’s something I need to work on, but one day out of the many in the year won’t ruin anything. So that being said, I hope you all enjoyed your Easter and some chocolate too!

Ingredients

- 1 can chickpeas, drained (275g)
- 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp sweetener
- 24g oat flour
- 100g unsweetened applesauce
- 4 tbsp @waldenfarmsinternational pancake syrup
- a pinch of salt
- 5g cocoa powder
- 5g activated charcoal powder (for color)

In a blender, blend together chickpeas, salt, unsweetened applesauce, sweetener, Walden farms, and vanilla extract. Remove contents from blender and fold in protein powder, cocoa powder, activated charcoal powder, and oat flour. It should come out thick and pretty dry. Spoon 1/3 recipe into a skillet (mine is 5 inches 1/2” thick) sprayed with non stick spray. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes for a perfect consistency. Top with goodies😋

I had the most amazing cake jar and brownies and blondies from @_theicingonthecake_ 😍 The cake jar was made of chocolate cake, bueno buttercream and crunchy biscoff 🤤🤤 honestly me in a cake jar!!! The blondies were Mars and were SO chewy. I have never had anything like them. Beth personally dropped these off at my house - and she is based in Manchester like me. Should I stick to my nutrition plan while traveling? 🚗🤔✈️ well for me, it depends! If I have a goal and I’m not traveling on a for-fun vacation, I do try my best to stick to my regular routine and plan!

But why? Because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t reach my goals in the timeframe I want aaand it makes my for-fun vacations where I take a break from my routine that much better!! 🙌🏻

So, here are a few things that I’m taking on my work trip to Sacramento this week ✈️ I’ll be there for 2 days and 2 nights, so this is what I’m bringing:

🥜 my bag of fats! AKA my @rxbar nut butter packs, @jojoschocolatebark, and Brazil nuts
🍚 oatmeal packets! Such an easy breakfast and good source of fiber
🥬 my greens drink (in the little funnels) with my creatine and glutamine
🍒 couple of @rxbar! Great on-the-go snack
🍫 @bowmar_nutrition protein hot chocolate brownie bar for times I need a good protein boost!
🥛 pre-portioned protein powders for my oatmeal and/or a protein drink if I need it
🍁 maple & brown sugar @powerful.foods protein oats! Super convenient - just add hot water and viola! You’ve got easy to make & transport oats
🍌 @baresnacks baked crunchy fruit medley for easy carbs & fiber (actually haven’t tried these yet sooo we’ll see how they are!)

WHAT IS CARB CYCLING by @mr.cogfit:

Carb cycling is a more advanced method of controlling calories. I know many bodybuilders and athletes that have to cut weight do utilize this method but I will teach you an easier version of it.

Carb cycling is not a low carb diet or equivalent it is just a method of manipulation of a macronutrient, in this case, carbohydrates in order to be in a caloric deficit.

So a common workout split is a 3-day workout split, however, and whatever your workout is up to you during these 3 days. The body utilizes carbohydrates best in terms of energy especially for working out so it would be best to eat more carbs than you would any other day. The amount of carbs depends on a number of factors but it is best to calculate your macros using an online calculator or app.

For a person that eats 200 grams of carbohydrates which equates to 800 calories which is 40 percent of a regular 2000 calorie diet. Cutting the carbs down to 50 grams equates to 200 calories which creates a deficit of 600 calories. In the weekly total carb cycling creates a deficit of about 1000 calories a week creating a total calorie deficit and leading to weight loss.

Nothing special about this method it is just one out of many for weight loss. Carbs are not evil and there is no silver bullet for losing weight.

I get a ton of questions about carb cycling. It’s one of the newer eating strategies and is getting more popular. Do I recommend it? Not really. It’s a much more advanced method than most other strategies and requires strict tracking and constant modifications along the way. There are endless variations for every goal and unless you really know your body and are very good at tracking, you’ll have trouble sustaining it

That being said, some people respond very well to it so I made some basic guidelines to follow if you really want to give it a shot and see how your body responds
.
To lose fat, you need to eat less than you burn and you want enough protein. The low carb days will amplify your caloric deficit and the high carb days will give you energy to workout and allow you to enjoy more carbs (make it more sustainable) 👍🏼 - Make sure you keep your protein around 1 g/ lb of BW and vary your fat vs. carb levels : Try to get 2 of your workouts in on the high carb days

Gaining muscle while carb cycling. Here you need to be in a «gentle» caloric surplus. Still get in that 1 g of protein/ lb of BW and allow the fat and carb levels to fluctuate. Again, try to get your workouts in on high carb days

Please keep in mind that there are MANY variations of carb cycling. Some stagger high/low/no carb days and some have low/no carb days stacked together. Unless you are extremely advanced, don’t worry about this stuff at all. Seriously 😎

It's no secret that the majority of "fit" people adopt this mindset at one point or another.

They either stick to their plan 100%, or they throw the plan out the window and watch it fade into the distance.

You know, it's not just "fit" people who struggle with this mindset. The entire population does, and it's rather unfortunate.

You will hear people say, "I either do something 100% perfectly(whatever that is), or I don't do it at all!"

…so you're either OCD, or you're lazy? There's no in between?
⠀
The neat thing about progression is, it happens even when you aren't 100%. Remember when you were in school and you got 80% on an exam and were proud of yourself?

The same principles should apply to your life.
⠀
No, I'm not saying you should "settle for average" or not strive to be your best.
⠀
I am saying that if you get 80% on every exam of the year you're going to have a better final grade than the person who got 100% on half of them, and 0% on half of them.
⠀
What does this mean in terms of fitness progression?
⠀
It means that if you're "kinda close" or "sorta close" to your nutritional intake, gym routine, etc, you're going to progress faster than the person who jumps back and forth.
⠀
You don't need to be perfect to move forward - we know this. [That being said, perfect is subjective, so having 80% adherence could be described as perfect.] Because I already used the school analogy, why not turn the rest of my post into a cliché problem solving question?

Becky is driving down a highway (a damn long one) - the highway of progression. She's going 100mph. When she eats an extra 200cals because she wanted a glass of wine[don't drink and drive], or she misses a day at the gym because she wanted to visit family, her car slows down to 80mph, but it's still moving forward.

Texture: Smooth layers on top and a lovely crispy texture in the middle thanks to the crispy bits. The middle is Like a lovely Krispy Treat or biscuit. Quite crunchy. Combines well with the chocolate and caramel layers.

I baked a “poverty” cake bc I didn’t have a ton of carbs left after breakfast 🙈 leg day 🦵left me HUNGRY 😋 y’all! I also use some of the Hershey’s Golden Eggs @minitomighty sent me! Add a Russel Stover’s Chocolate, a LE Spring Oreo, and a chocolate covered marshmallow egg, and you’re all set! Some ladies from a party I waited on yesterday gave me a mini box of Russel Stover’s chocolates! 4 in a box! Perfect size 😁👌

If you have, I’m here to tell you this is utter nonsense and there is no credible research to support this. Food eaten after 6pm will not automatically get stored as fat. How outrageous does that sound?!

When it comes to losing or gaining weight, the fundamental thing that matters is your total daily caloric intake, not when you eat those calories. For example, we know that to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit ( your body is burning more calories than you intake on a given day). So, let’s just say there is person A and person B. Both person A and B have a maintenance amount of calories of 2,500. This means in order to lose weight, they will need to consume less than this amount.

Person A eats 4 meals of 600 calories and a 200 calorie snack, but stops eating for the night at 5:30pm. Person B eats 5 meals of 400 calories and two 200 calorie snacks, the last snack being right before bed (roughly 10pm). Which person is going to lose weight? It’s going to be person B

Eating right before bedtime can slightly interfere with sleep quality, HOWEVER, when it comes to gaining weight, always look to total daily caloric intake and NOT what time you stop eating at.

I finally made use of the @g2gbar my girl @havingandeatingcake sent me! I figured with Chocolate Peanut Butter, I’d make a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake, and add some milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips!🍫🥜 and of course a chocolate peanut butter drizzle🍫🥜💦😋 I’m not sure how I feel about the G2G bar?! I DID like the flavor, although it had a bit of a chalky texture to it🧐. I do kinda like that chewy texture that a lot of protein bars have 😋 Is it worth the macros? If you can spare them, yes! - 1 can chickpeas, drained (275g)
- 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp sweetener
- 24g oat flour
- 100g unsweetened applesauce
- 4 tbsp @waldenfarmsinternational pancake syrup
- a pinch of salt

In a blender, blend together chickpeas, salt, unsweetened applesauce, sweetener, Walden farms, and vanilla extract. Remove contents from blender and fold in protein powder and oat flour. It should come out thick and pretty dry. Spoon 1/3 recipe into a skillet (mine is 5 inches 1/2” thick) sprayed with non stick spray. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes for a perfect consistency. Top with goodies😋

I get a ton of questions about carb cycling. It’s one of the newer eating strategies and is getting more popular. Do I recommend it? Not really. It’s a much more advanced method than most other strategies and requires strict tracking and constant modifications along the way. There are endless variations for every goal and unless you really know your body and are very good at tracking, you’ll have trouble sustaining it

That being said, some people respond very well to it so I made some basic guidelines to follow if you really want to give it a shot and see how your body responds

To lose fat, you need to eat less than you burn and you want enough protein. The low carb days will amplify your caloric deficit and the high carb days will give you energy to workout and allow you to enjoy more carbs (make it more sustainable) 👍🏼 - Make sure you keep your protein around 1 g/ lb of BW and vary your fat vs. carb levels : Try to get 2 of your workouts in on the high carb days

Gaining muscle while carb cycling. Here you need to be in a «gentle» caloric surplus. Still get in that 1 g of protein/ lb of BW and allow the fat and carb levels to fluctuate. Again, try to get your workouts in on high carb days

Please keep in mind that there are MANY variations of carb cycling. Some stagger high/low/no carb days and some have low/no carb days stacked together. Unless you are extremely advanced, don’t worry about this stuff at all. Seriously 😎

To je ta SVOBODA, které jsem s pomocí těchto osob a mnoha dalších snad už dosáhla. A za to jsem hrozně vděčná. 🥯Mini Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Chocolate Drizzled Bagel French Toast Bites!🥯 Happy Saturday everyone! Hope everyone is off to a good start! I’ve been up since about 3:45 this morning #teamnosleep got in an early morning walk to wake up and was able to catch the sunrise 🙂 one of the better parts of Kansas, we have some pretty good sunsets and sunrises(though watching the sunset by the beach in Cali was pretty dang breathtaking 😍). Afterwards came home and was gonna do pancakes but wanted to switch things up so went with French Toast bites instead!

Gameplan for today is pretty much adulting the first half with laundry dishes and grocery shopping and then hitting legs later! Other than that I’m just gonna enjoy my weekend and take it easy!👌🏽

How to put together a balanced meal 🍴

🙋🏻‍♀️ Would you try this plate?

▶Ingredients:
• handful of cherry tomatoes
• 1 cup mushrooms
• 2 eggs⠀
• 1/2 an avocado⠀
• handful of leafy greens⠀
• 1-2 tbsp olive oil
• chilli flakes to garnish

▶Method:
1️⃣ Add olive oil and mushrooms to a pan on low-medium heat. Allow the mushrooms to get crispy before turning over. Next, add the tomatoes.⠀
2️⃣ After a couple of minutes, move everything to one side of the pan and add your two eggs.⠀
3️⃣ While they cook, slice your avo and place your greens on the plate (you also could wilt them in a small pot of boiling water if preferred).⠀
4️⃣ Add everything to your plate and enjoy!

Baskin Robbins' April flavor of the month is "Waffle Cone Crunch"

Waffle flavored ice cream base with chocolate swirls and crunchy chocolate covered waffle pieces.

Good Bro at the scoop shop always hooks me up.. Always.. Just look at the amount of those mix-ins.

Texture: Not surprised that the base melts a tad bit faster than other "premium" ice creams. But that's fine, I'm impatient and this means less time for the ice cream to temper.

Nevertheless, it's a smooth and creamy base. The chocolate Swirls? Bro.. You mean fudge.. That's fudge.. and it's thick!

The crunchy waffle pieces? Pleasantly surprised! All.. and I mean all the pieces were crunchy! Covered in chocolate and maintained its crunchy texture! Brilliant execution.

Flavor: At first, when you taste the base by itself, you can slightly taste the 'maple' aspect to it. The chocolate fudge is decadent. Absolutely delicious. The waffle pieces were the highlight of course... Tastes like the advertised waffle cone at first and then you get struck by the chocolate that it is covered in. VaVa Voom!

Every spoonful thereafter tastes like waffle and chocolate. Lovely!

Rating: A.

Wellllll the weekend is officially here for meeee 🙌🏽🙌🏽 hope everyone had a great Friday 😁 mine was alright, super slow at work so I spent half the day wondering around trying to look busy(aka cleaning up random things 3/4 of the day 🧹 🧼 🤮) but made it through! Then hit a killer push session(chest shoulders tri’s oh my 😱) then finished with abs and calves 😤

The flavor was very good although I didn’t pick up toooo much saltiness. 🤷‍♀️ the texture was fluffy and creamy but it could’ve been a bit smoother if that makes sense lol. Overall, it was pretty good and plenty sweet 😋 I can’t wait to try the other flavors! Thanks @thesolacompany

It’s unbelievable how many people try and start a new ‘diet’ and within the first week they quit.

Dieting doesn’t have to be hard if you don’t make it.

If you go into a diet saying to yourself:

❌“I’m going to hate eating the same thing over and over”
.
❌“All the ‘healthy meals aren’t going to taste good”
.
❌“I’m going to be hungry all the time”
.
❌“I’m not going to be able to enjoy eating all the things I love”
.
Then all of these things Will happen because you’re telling yourself it will.

It’s like you’re almost preparing yourself for failure so you can say, “see I knew this diet wasn’t going to work” when you decide to give up.

👉Flip the script.
.
Instead, tell yourself:
.
✅“I’m going to look so damn good once I push through this diet”
.
✅“Who cares what it taste like, I’m going to love the way I look”
.
✅“I love challenging myself, so why not challenge myself to eat healthy”
.
✅“Yeah this is the best damn [insert veggie] I’ve ever had”
.
And you’ll program yourself to not complain about how your diet isn’t sooo bad after all.

If you aren’t having fun while you are changing your life for the better than maybe take a step back to realign what’s more important.

It’s unbelievable how many people try and start a new ‘diet’ and within the first week they quit.

Dieting doesn’t have to be hard if you don’t make it.

If you go into a diet saying to yourself:

❌“I’m going to hate eating the same thing over and over”
.
❌“All the ‘healthy meals aren’t going to taste good”
.
❌“I’m going to be hungry all the time”
.
❌“I’m not going to be able to enjoy eating all the things I love”
.
Then all of these things Will happen because you’re telling yourself it will.

It’s like you’re almost preparing yourself for failure so you can say, “see I knew this diet wasn’t going to work” when you decide to give up.

Instead, tell yourself:
.
✅“I’m going to look so damn good once I push through this diet”
.
✅“Who cares what it taste like, I’m going to love the way I look”
.
✅“I love challenging myself, so why not challenge myself to eat healthy”
.
✅“Yeah this is the best damn [insert veggie] I’ve ever had”
.
And you’ll program yourself to not complain about how your diet isn’t sooo bad after all.

If you aren’t having fun while you are changing your life for the better than maybe take a step back to realign what’s more important.
