These are a favourite at ours, I remember my mum used to make them a lot & my dad loves to have these while they warm
Tho these were made for my cousins wedding time❤
What's not to like anyway ? A pitted date covered in a flaky biscuit dough then dipped in egg white, covered in dessicated coconut & topped with a tiny piece of cherry🍒
Do you like date biscuits ? .

Summaiyah Dudhia Dawoodjee @whatssumicooking -250 grams butter -1 & half cups castor sugar
*Beat till pale & fluffy*
Now add in:
-2 tsp vanilla essence -4 eggs(one by one, beating in each addition)
Now add in:
-4 tsp baking powder -3 tblsp cornflour(maizena) -Enough flour to make a soft dough(Roughly you'll use about 4 cups Flour) *what I usually do is I make a soft dough then roll 3 then bake and see, if the dough is quite soft, they'll spread a lot so you'll know if you have to add more flour or not, if it doesn't spread then your dough is perfect🤗* Separately you'll need:
-Egg whites for dipping -Dessicated coconut for rolling in after dipping in egg whites
-Red or green cherries to top up(optional)
Take a round ball of your biscuit dough then press a piece of pitted date into it rolling it into a ball then into a long finger like shape ... Dip in egg whites then dessicated coconut & top up with a small piece of cherry(optional) ...
Bake at 160°c till light brown & Remember us in your duas xx
This recipe makes a lot, if you don't need too many of them then half the recipe🤗
