What’s everyone talking about in Las Vegas? SNOW!! Yep! Snow in Vegas ⛄️❄️ (crazy right?) The last time it snowed in vegas was a decade ago, so it’s kinda a big deal for us 😆. While we try to stay warm, I though I’d share this amazing salmon we had the other night. Recipe for the salmon glaze was from @dianemorrisey I baked both the salmon & broccoli at 425° for 15 minutes and broiled for an extra 2-3 minutes.

Short term pleasures vs Long Term results
.
I was talking to a client of mine that was having a hard time with her nutrition.
.
She knew what to eat and what not to eat but still found herself over consuming or eating foods that got her off track.
.
Sitting down and talking to her I asked “what goes through your mind as you find yourself getting off track with your nutrition?”
.
She replied “At the moment I wasn’t feeling my best and the food I ate made me feel good”
.
You may find this happen to you!
.
You are having a bad day and you know food makes you feel good but maybe don’t realize it is only for a short period of time.
.
What you are doing when this happens is looking for short term gratification at the moment.
.
Something that will make you feel good NOW but may have you feeling even worse LATER.
.
What I told her to do is before making a decision that you know is going to put you off track ask yourself.
.
“Am I looking for short term gratification” or “Am I looking at the overall big picture that will lead me to long term permanent gratification?
.
Is the short term pleasure of eating what you want at the moment worth more than the long term pleasure of having a healthy body you feel confident with?
.
This is the overall question because you don’t want to be the person who ate a whole tub of ice cream only to feel bad about it later.
.
I’d rather you eat 2-3 bites of ice cream and then get back on track than to eat the whole tub and ruin the hard work you put in throughout the week.
.
Long term you will feel better knowing you stuck to your goals than if you were to fall of to temptations.
.
I’m not saying you have to stop enjoying the foods you love when you’re feeling off, I’m saying to be balanced but always ensure you are staying on course.
.
You can take 3 steps forward and 2 steps back but you will still be moving forward!
.
Get after it, stay strong but most importantly stay consistent.
.

As the kids were walking out the door, I overheard Nicholas say that he has swimming AND PE at school today.

Knowing what he can be like at the end of a big week, I asked him to apply his oil + also inhale some spearmint.

His blend is one that we found works for him, to help keep his body calm (especially when we are consistent with application).

I had suggested he inhale Peppermint for its energy boost and uplift to the mood. But, being an independent young man, he had to choose the oil and opted for Spearmint instead. It'll do the trick 😉.

As promised, here is the recipe of Healthy Snickerdoodles

🍪🍪Ingredients for dough🍪🍪

1 tbsp coconut flour
1 tbsp oatmeal flour
1 cup almond flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp coconut (or date) sugar
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon

🍪🍪Instructions🍪🍪

🍪For cinnamon mixture just simply mix in a small bowl extra 1 tbsp cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar.
🍪Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
🍪Melt coconut oil
🍪Whisk all ingredients for dough in a bowl
🍪Line a baking tray with parchment paper and scoop out your dough into even sized balls (around 2 inches each) pressing down slightly
🍪Roll these balls iaround cinnamon sugar
🍪Bake for 12 minutes and allow to cool down before eating

Here are my top three tips:⁣⁣
1️⃣ Enjoy more, stress less! Seriously, this is so important! The joy and appreciation are high-vibrational feelings and they will increase the vibration of the food you're eating.⁣⁣
2️⃣ Always, always, always order a side of vegetables with your meal. One of my mantras is: Don't worry about what you eat, worry about what you don't eat. Meaning, don't worry about the burger, ice-cream, cake etc, worry about vegetables, greens, plant-based foods, so make sure you add those.⁣⁣
3️⃣ Eat fresh and local as much as possible. Is there a market in the area you can visit? Local restaurant serving authentic foods prepared in-house?⁣⁣

What are ‘healthy fats?’ How much do we need? •••••
Unsaturated fats come in two forms; polyunsaturated and monounsaturated.
Polyunsaturated = omega-3 found in fatty fish, flaxseed and walnuts.
Monounsaturated = heart heathy and a a good source of antioxidant Vitamin E = olives, high quality olive oil, avocado, almonds, pumpkin seeds. •••••
We recommend a minimum of 25-35% of your daily calories come from fats (the good guys, not cake and cookies, darn). For example, a 2000 calorie diet would have between 55-75g of fat minimum.

Cajun Lamb Cutlets Easy dinner idea!
Recipe suitable for ketogenic weight loss- serves -4
Ingredients
• 12 lamb cutlets
• 2 tsps ground cumin
• 2 tsps ground coriander
• 1 tsp sweet paprika
• 1 tsp ground turmeric
• 1 tsp ground oregano
• 1 tsp chilli powder
• 1 tsp ground garlic clove
• 1 Tbsps olive oil
Combine all spices and oil and place all
ingredients into a bowl. Cover and refrigerate at
least 3 hours or overnight. Cook lamb in batches
on heated, oiled grill plate or pan until
browned and cooked as desired.
Serves with veges/salad!

Close Grip Push Up Instructions 》

The close grip push up is a variation of the push up that focuses on hitting the triceps. Set up by placing your palms on the floor with your thumbs touching on another.

Extend your legs back so that only your toes are touching the floor and your body is straight.

Bend slightly at the elbows to keep tension in your triceps.

Keeping your body straight, slowly lower yourself as far as possible without hitting the floor.

Pause, and then push back up to the starting position without locking your elbows out.

Repeat for desired reps.

Exercise Tips:

Keep your elbows tucked in at your side throughout the set.

Don't lock your elbows out. This takes the tension off the triceps and makes the exercise less effective.

The close grip push up is a good finishing exercise or a second exercise in a superset.
