GROW SOIL TO GROW FOOD! 🌱
@courtneypreis & I got rid of our garbage can 4 months ago and invested in a 35 gallon compost bin— best decision of our lives!
Compost is simply the break down of our food scraps that, after a set amount of time, turns into beautiful, healthy #soil.
This provides a healthy home for plants to grow in which means nutrient-dense food for us to once again consume. Talk about the circle of life!
Anything that was once alive can be added to your compost. There are specific methods to make sure your compost is healthy and thriving— knowing your ratios is key 🗝
This aspect of our zero-waste lifestyle has altered the way we view everything we buy and bring into our home. If it cannot be decayed, we do not buy it! This holds us accountable for reducing our waste and gives us incentive to eat a fully whole food diet 🙏🏻
If you don’t have a garden to put your compost to use in, there are many local farms who would love to take it off your hands!
