Seriously! 😂😂😂
From $1000 to $150 on Nursing Textbooks
Before you press “Proceed to Checkout” in your school’s mobile bookstore, understand this. You are about to spend $1000 on textbooks for a class that probably has all the study material you will ever need... on Quizlet! Yes, a FREE website that has practice questions, flash cards, and tests that have been provided to you by your fellow nursing students across the globe. This is information that you will NOT receive on your syllabus. Of course your professors will push for you to buy the textbooks (Probably because they wrote it) as it is required for the class. I use the word “required” very loosely for the simple fact that I, myself, was a victim of the College Textbook Scandal. After 3 years of paying $1000 for new textbooks every semester, I decided enough was enough. If you also feel like enough is enough, this is what you should do..
1. Find some upperclassmen who took the class. I just sold my textbooks to someone who had $1,200 in her amazon cart. I gave her four old textbooks for $150. Trust me, your upperclassmen will have sympathy for you. We know what it’s like.
If you cannot find any upperclassmen, your next best bet will be social media. Join a nursing group on Facebook and ask if anyone is selling old textbooks. 99% of times, there is always someone looking to get rid of their old ones.
Nursing school tuition is expensive in itself. So if there’s a way for you to get good grades and save money, go for it. Be BOOK SMART. Your bank account will thank you later.
