Netflix CEO in Israel to oppose production legislation

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is in Israel and has met with President Isaac Herzog and Minister of Communications Yoaz Hendel at the president’s home in Jerusalem. Sarandos is making an attempt to convince Hendel not to transfer forward with laws requiring worldwide streaming companies like Netflix to develop initial materials in Israel.

Sarandos heard what Israel is planning on the issue and he described that laws could hurt Netflix’s programs to extend financial investment in Israel. Netflix is involved about the precedent and Sarandos sought to make clear how the firm is now cooperating with local business in shopping for material and why laws could final result in minimized financial investment.
